Gen Freeform Exchange

Gen Freeform Exchange is a multi-fandom exchange focused on gen fanworks, with freeform tag matching so that you can request and offer all your favorite gen tropes. We’re defining gen fanworks as works with no romantic or sexual content. Gen can focus on platonic relationships (friends, family, colleagues, enemies-with-whom-there-is-no-sexual-tension, etc), usually indicated by a & between characters rather than a /, or it can focus on a singular character with no particular focus on any relationship.

Both solo characters and gen character combos can be requested. Media allowed: fic, art, vids, and podfic.

This exchange operates under the "Do not be that much of an asshole"-principle. We are trying to make this a space for everyone to have fun and will not tolerate harassment.

Authors have been revealed. Thanks to everyone who participated, especially for your patience while we changed horses mods midstream. The collection will remain open year-round for treats.

Having wrapped things up, the substitute mod is stepping down. Watch this space next year for information on whether the exchange will run again. In the meantime, feedback is very welcome, here or to the mod email address.

Due to the lingering pinch hits, collection opening is delayed until May 16 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. (I will be unavailable May 13–15, hence the delay until Monday night.) The remaining pinch hits and all outstanding pinch hits now have a deadline of May 11 at 11:59 p.m.

Please spread the word to creators in those fandoms and help to get those pinch hits filled! And thank you all very much for your patience in the meantime.

Apologies to pinch hit offerers and others whose messages have gone unanswered over the past month. One of our mods is dealing with personal issues and needs to step back. A substitute mod has been found and we'll do our best to catch up quickly. All the mod contact info remains the same.

Unclaimed pinch hits from the last batch will be reposted, even if there are vintage offers to write for them; we don't have a good way of knowing which of those offers are still valid now that the time to deadline is much shorter. If you're interested in claiming one of those pinch hits, please comment on the new post.

At this time, the deadline is still May 1. However, work reveals and creator reveals may be pushed later if pinch hitters need more time. We'll see where things stand after the deadline.
