Here is the next round of clarifications! Here are some general reminders:

  • Only nominate characters under fandoms in which they appear (unless you're nominating under Crossover Fandom) and if you're nominating a franchise check the nominations guidelines to see if we have rules.
  • Disambiguate your nominations by putting the fandom after your relationship nominations.
  • Do not nominate / relationships, as they will be rejected without clarification.

Now on to the specifics. Outstanding clarifications are kept, new items are bolded.

Relationships Slot

Doctor Who & Related Fandoms

All tags — Sorry, nominator, we can't accept this fandom because it's way too broad. It includes at minimum every fandom listed here which is just way too much. Doctor Who (2005) is already in the tagset, but I think your nominations are from a combination of Doctor Who (1963), Torchwood, and Class (TV 2016). Crossovers between them can go in Crossover Fandom. Also, some specific notes on your nominations...

Bunghole Defence Squad (Doctor Who & Related Fandoms) and Torchwood Agents (Doctor Who & Related Fandoms) — These tags need either "Solo:" or "Group:" in front of them! When you switch these noms to different fandoms, please add Solo: or Group:

Various Doctor Who companions and spin-off characters (Doctor Who & Related Fandoms) — Obviously you will have to rethink this tag when you're nominating in different, more specific fandoms, but this phrasing is too vague and we wouldn't be able to accept it even if we could accept this fandom. You could nominate something like "Solo: Creator's Choice of Canon Companions or Spin Off Characters (Doctor Who 1963)" (You would get a work focused on 1 canon companion or spin-off character) or something like "Group: Creator's Choice of Canon Companions or Spin Off Characters" (You would get a work focused on a minimum of 2 canon companions or spin-off characters, or maybe one of each) or something like "Creator's Choice of Canon Companion(s) & Creator's Choice of Canon Spin Off Character(s) (DW 1963)" (you would get a work focused on a minimum of one companion and one spin-off character each).

The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien

Solo: Finrod (Silmarillion) and Solo: Finrod Felagund | Findaráto (Silmarillion - Tolkien) — Are these the same character? If so, can Silm nominators come to a consensus about which version I should accept?

TOLKIEN J. R. R. - Works & Related Fandoms

All tags — This fandom tag is much too broad for us to accept, unfortunately! It would at minimum include everything listed here and potentially a bunch of other random things. Crossover Fandom would be the best choice for most of your nominations.

The Book of Lost Tales - J. R. R. Tolkien

All tags — Sorry, this fandom is synned with the Silm fandom and I thought we were safe because your tags were new tags! But AO3 is a dumpster fire so they've all fallen into the Silm fandom /o\ We'll fix this before sign ups open, but just so you know they might end up with weird disambigs and/or the fandom might end up under "Uncategorized Fandoms" after we're done punishing the tagset for its sins.

Freeforms

"Carrie" Type Fusion — Nominator, we have no idea what you mean! What is a "Carrie" type fusion? Please explain so we can help you come up with a clearer freeform.

Not so secret mission — Sorry, nominator, we don't know what exactly this means! Please explain so we can help you come up with a clearer freeform.

In-World Meta — Do you mean in-universe nonfiction exploring some aspect of worldbuilding (as in this meaning of meta) or do you mean 'meta' in the "breaking the fourth wall sense of metafic?

Alternate Viewpoints — Do you mean a fic where you get scenes from several characters' POVs (which is what the canonical tag "POV Alternating" means) or did you mean you wanted a fic about a canon event told from a different character's point of view?

Worldbuilding: Narrative Bias — According to google, narrative bias "refers to our tendency to make sense of the world through stories" but I'm not sure how that applies to worldbuilding.

Famous Five style camping adventure — There are a bunch of famous fives so for clarity I would like this to be changed to something like "Camping Adventure - in the style of" followed by something specifying which famous five you mean.

Partisans or Resistance — For clarity I would like to accept this as "Partisan Military Force Or Other Resistance Activities" but am running it by you in case that doesn't imply what you actually want.

ghost story — Do you want a story with ghosts or a story with characters telling each other ghost stories?

Inspired by... tags including Inspired by Florence + the Machine and Inspired by Lana Del Rey Songs — These are accepted but I wanted to clarify that requesters should have reasonable expectations about what "Inspired By" will entitled them to recieve, even in a vid request. Mods will take a creator's word at face value if they say what they've created for you was inspired by a song or artist. For a vid request, this does mean that your vidder doesn't need to include a song by the artist in the vid, only be inspired by it.
