Nominations Clarification 5
Feb. 12th, 2021 12:32 pmHere is the next round of clarifications! Here are some general reminders:
- Only nominate characters under fandoms in which they appear (unless you're nominating under Crossover Fandom) and if you're nominating a franchise check the nominations guidelines to see if we have rules.
- Disambiguate your nominations by putting the fandom after your relationship nominations.
- Do not nominate / relationships, as they will be rejected without clarification.
Now on to the specifics. Outstanding clarifications are kept, new items are bolded.
Relationships Slot
DCU (Comics)
Nominations including Batfamily Members & Clark Kent & etc — I can't begin to guess what comics universe you might or might not be okay with and therefore cannot disambiguate them for you and we are unfortunately at the point where they're getting in the way of approving other tags, so I have rejected them. If you comment on this or any other nominations post (or email us!) with a list of correctly formatted nominations and a link to your nominations page, I will add the corrected tags into the tagset for you.
Nominations including "Clark Kent & Lois Lane & James "Jimmy" Olsen" — This is a new set of nominations distinct from the ones above that just came in today. You need to disambiguate by the DC comics universe you want or add "(Any DCU Comics version)". I will not accept this as-is and as mentioned above I cannot disambiguate them for you.
If you are a DCU Comics nominator and need help knowing what to call the universe you want, please ask for help! I am not an expert but I know a lot of nerds.
Crossover Fandom
Nathan Summers & Wade Wilson (Deadpool) and Wade Wilson & Domino (Deadpool) — Since you haven't come back to correct them and I can't guess what crossover you actually wanted when you nominated these in crossover fandom, I have rejected them. If you comment on this or any other nominations post (or email us!) with a list of correctly formatted nominations and a link to your nominations page, I will add the corrected tags into the tagset for you.
Clint Barton (Hawkeye 2012) & Kate Bishop (Hawkeye 2012) & Tim Drake (DCU comics) — Since you were specific about your Hawkeyes I assume you're being general about your Tim Drake on purpose so I will eventually accept this with "(Any DCU comics version)" as the Tim disambiguation, but if you're not really down for ANY version of Tim, please clarify the disambiguation!
Hawkeye (Comics)
Nominations including James "Bucky" Barnes & Bucky Bear & Avengers Team and Yelena Belova & Natasha Romanov and James "Bucky" Barnes & Liho — Some of your nominations are definitely obviously legitimate Hawkeye (Comics) nominations, but several of them like the ones listed appear to include people who've never appeared in a Hawkeye comic.
Yelena Belova has been in Black Widow, various Avengers titles, and Secret Wars where I assume she overlapped with Clint Barton's appearances but doesn't seem to have appeared under any Hawkeye titles.
Bucky Bear is apparently a literal stuffed bear who only appears in one volume and is from Earth-71912, a universe that then merges with Battleworld.Earth-15513 during Secret Wars.
Liho is a cat who I love and support but who has apparently only appeared in a few Black Widow issues. That's a shameful choice on the part of Marvel, but definitely means Liho doesn't belong under the Hawkeye fandom.
We only want characters to be nominated under universes/titles in which they appear. This is obviously always a mess, but it looks like to me you're interested in Earth 616 Hawkeye (Maybe specifically Matt Fraction's 2012 run?), Earth 616 Black Widow, and the 2015 Secret Wars event? I haven't read Secret Wars, but I would accept "Secret Wars (2015 Event)" or "Earth-15513" as a fandom; I would also accept Matt Fraction's run specifically or you could shuffle a lot of what you want into Marvel 616 as your fandom? But whatever you want to do I'm sorry to say I can't accept a bunch of your nominations /o\ I've left the fandom unaccepted too in case you want to use that fandom slot differently in light of this extremely long clarification...please feel free to comment or email to discuss, and apologies if the wiki has left me misinformed about anything!
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Please see the end of the post for a clarification that might spoil you for recent/upcoming MCU releases. (It's under a cut so if you want to really avoid it, view the rest of this post from the comm's main page.Original Works
Solo: Immortal Being Throughout Time — I'm concerned that this tag isn't very clear. Do you mean an immortal being that experiences time in a non-linear fashion?
The Losers (2010)
Jake Jensen & Felicity Smoak, Jake Jensen & Felicity Smoak, Jake Jensen & Steve Rogers, and Jake Jensen & Tony Stark — I have rejected these tags because they're crossover pairings and must be nominated under Crossover Fandom with proper disambiguation. I caught these because I recognized the characters as misplaced; if you have nominated more obscure crossovers in other fandoms please tell me so we can sort it out. Also, please remember to disambiguate your tags going forward.
The Umbrella Academy (TV)
Allison Hargreeves & Everyone — Per nominations clarfication 4, this has been accepted as "Solo: Allison Hargreeves (TUA TV)".
Freeforms
Character thinks no one is coming to save them; EVERYONE teams up for the rescue. — Sorry to change my mind, nominator, but as the week has gone on and I've thought about it more I've decided I actually can't accept this tag as-is because of the use of the word "everyone". I have accepted it as "Character thinks no one is coming to save them; MULTIPLE people team up for the rescue", which I hope will be usable for your purposes.
"Carrie" Type Fusion — Nominator, we have no idea what you mean! What is a "Carrie" type fusion? Please explain so we can help you come up with a clearer freeform.
Nogitsune Stiles Stilinski — Accepted as "Teen Wolf - Nogitsune Stiles Stilinski" and if this was secretly about a different fandom then oops.
Sharing a Bed — Accepted as "Platonic Bedsharing".
Soulmate-Identifying Marks — Accepted as "Platonic Soulmate-Identifying Marks"
Not so secret mission — Sorry, nominator, we don't know what exactly this means! Please explain so we can help you come up with a clearer freeform.
Vid: BAMFs — "BAMF character" is already in the tagset and you'll be matching on medium, so I'm wondering if maybe you want this tag slot back or want to clarify it somehow to make it clear exactly what kind of vid focusing on one of more badass characters you're hoping to recieve.
Extra, potentially spoiler-y MCU clarification
People who've nominated Pietro Maximoff or who want to request him — Based on the latest WandaVision episode there are (maybe?) (apparently?) two versions of Pietro Maximoff, so maybe if you care you should specify which one you want? I know episodes are coming out week by week so if it doesn't seem like something to care about now but before sign ups end you want a tag that specifies, we'll accommodate that.

Date: 2021-02-13 06:26 am (UTC)And while we're at it - regarding the Jake Jensen crossover pairings: would it be possible for me to nominate them anyway, just with the fandoms added? For example: "Jake Jensen (The Losers) & Steve Rogers (MCU)"
Oh and why hasn't this tag been accepted? "Pavel Chekov & James T. Kirk & Leonard "Bones" McCoy & Spock & Hikaru Sulu & Nyota Uhura".
Sorry for so many questions

Date: 2021-02-13 10:58 pm (UTC)1) Characters from the Marvel 616 universe are eligible under Marvel 616. Characters who are not from Marvel 616 are not eligible under Marvel 616. If you're not sure which characters are or are not from Marvel 616, I linked a Marvel wiki in the clarification post above. In this case, Bucky Bear is both A) not from Marvel 616 and B) not a character, but instead an item. We will not accept any relationship/character nominations for Bucky Bear, but you could nominate a freeform. If the rest of your nominated characters exist in Marvel 616, then you can nominate them in that fandom.
2) Crossovers must be nominated under "Crossover Fandom", which is made clear both in the nomination guidelines and in the clarification post above. You cannot nominate crossovers under "The Losers (2010)". The only way for you to nominate and request Jake Jensen and Steve Rogers in the same relationship tag is by nominating "Jake Jensen (The Losers) & Steve Rogers (MCU)" under the fandom "Crossover Fandom".
3) "Pavel Chekov & James T. Kirk & Leonard "Bones" McCoy & Spock & Hikaru Sulu & Nyota Uhura" was nominated without a disambiguation. If you would like to increase the speed at which your tags are accepted, then you should disambiguate them.
4) Please give us the link to your nominations page, as we would like to check all of your nominations for crossovers that we didn't catch before approving.
